I haven’t been this nervous to send an email in a very long time – probably since pitching Brazil's Government to bankroll my wild idea of visiting every World Cup city!

With that said, let me formally welcome you to Travel Deeper Insider – a weekly update from my life and travels.

This means of communication is long overdue, but my dentist says I need to open up more.

My goal is to share three things with you here:

1. Behind the scenes of what I’m working on (and going through).
2. Gems and discoveries from the world of travel.
3. Helpful resources and insights to help you plan your next trip.

Back From Las Vegas!

First things first, I just got back from a week of filming in Las Vegas - man that town is crazy!

We filmed eight total episodes: four for the main channel (@GarethLeonard) and another four for the food channel (@GarethEats).

To give you an idea, we spent a Day in the Life with a Drag Queen, Casino CEO, Adult Star, and went inside the tunnels under the Las Vegas strip.

These are the stories I want to tell moving forward – Going deeper to create more meaningful content about interesting people, cultures, and professions.

COOL THING IN TRAVEL

I’ll keep this section short and sweet this week, but this is where I’ll share fun and interesting things I find from around the world.

For example, As a digital nomad, I'm continuously on the hunt for destinations to set up my mobile office.

I’m currently based in San Diego, but over the years I've gotten to work remotely from some amazing spots.

Tons of blogs and travel sites have made their “Top Destinations for Remote Workers” lists. To save you time and searching, here are the spots you should consider…

• Lisbon is where I’d be if I didn’t live in San Diego.
• Tbilisi is a dream destination for me.
• Chiang Mai offers the best food and has good infrastructure for nomads.
• Bali is saturated with remote workers (good for networking I guess).
• Bonus locations – Playa del Carmen, Tirana, and Tallinn.

Personally, if I’m going to move abroad to experience the world, I don’t want to be surrounded by the same people I can see back home – that’s just me.

I lived in Medellin back in 2010 before it really hit the expat map and it was one of the greatest experiences of my life – learning Spanish, dancing salsa, and drinking Aguardiente. Check out this baby face in Colombia, haha!
